Oil Spill Chapter 3: Night Life

After running from the Egg Pawns for what felt like forever, Sef finally reached the border to the Casino Night Zone. He knew that the second he crossed the border the Egg Pawns would stop firing and turn around. With bullets flying left and right, Sef took a dive to try to reach the border. As soon as he hit the ground, he tucked his body and began to roll. As he was rolling, he broke into a spin dash that tore through the few Pawns that we're trying to block his path. Soon he felt his momentum begin to slow down and soon he was lying on his back. Sef got up, his world spinning after his long roll. When his world stopped spinning he noticed that the Pawns had stopped in their tracks,; their guns were now at their sides. Sef knew that he made it to the outskirts of the Casino Night zone, and he couldn't have been happier. Instinct took over, and he pulled down his right eyelid, stuck his tongue out, and gave the middle finger to the Egg Pawns.

"Better luck next time rust buckets. Maybe then you'll have the balls to try to enter here!"

As soon as the bots disappeared in the horizon, Sef turned around and made his way into the heart of the Casino Night Zone.

The area known as the Casino Night Zone was famous in East Island. It was well known for it's exciting night life, incredible Casinos, and it was the area that first created the human sized pinball table (although the anthro population seemed to enjoy it more). The minuet Sef entered the downtown area, a since of euphoria hit him. He stopped in his tracks and thought to himself.

"You know what, why the hell am I even trying to defuse the situation in the Oil Ocean Zone?! Surly Sonic and Tails have gotten to the plant by now, and I'm sure Eggman is now out of the area!"

Sef's ears and tail perked up when he thought about the possibility of not having to worry about the predicament that he put him self in. For the first time after the whole incident started, he felt happy and relaxed. He started to walk towards the nearest Casino to finally begin his vacation.

After spending about one hundred rings in poker and black jack, Sef made his way to the bar to have a drink.  Once he sat down at the bar, he ordered his drink, and began to let his mind wonder. However, his ears picked up a conversation a few seats away from him.

"I'm telling you that place is fine, there's nothing wrong with the area!"

"I beg to differ, from what I saw that place has turned into a hell hole!"

Sef got off his bar stool, and walked over to the source of the conversation. When he got there, he saw a G.U.N officer and another fox. The fox was was black in color with grey highlights in the chest fur as well as the tail tip. His hair was cool shade of green, and his had two different eye colors, blue and green. He wore baggy pants that extended to his feet, and the pants were the same shad of green as his hair with blue lining. He wore green fighting gloves that had a hole on top to show a strange X marking on the top of the hand. It seemed like the G.U.N officer was arguing with the fox, but Sef didn't know the reason. Although he didn't want to get involved, he felt like he had to.

"Excuse me,"  Sef said to the G.U.N officer," is there a reason why you're arguing with this fox?"

"Commander Highwind!?"

The G.U.N officer took a few steps back, almost tripping over the bar stools behind him.

"I had no idea that you were in the area, sir! I was trying to debunk the idea of an incident in the Oil Ocean Zone!"

The mention of the Oil Ocean Zone made Sef's heart sink a few inches into his chest. He had hopped that he wouldn't hear anything about the zone when he entered the city, but he had a sinking suspicion that it was going to turn up eventually. But the one thing that was on his mind was how the fox knew anything about it.

"Officer, I'm releasing you of duty tonight. Just enjoy your self and forget about the Oil Ocean Zone."

"But sir!"

"That's an order soldier!" Sef barked to the officer.

The officer took off out of the bar leaving behind Sef and the fox. The second the soldier was gone, Sef returned to his normal self. He then turned to the fox.

"Sorry about that, I really didn't want G.U.N to learn anything about what's going on in Oil Ocean. So what sort of information do you have Mr…"

"Shadz, just Shadz."

Sef and Shadz took a set at a table close by.

"So Shadz, what sort of information do you have?'

"Well," Shadz began," I was walking around the north area of East Island, when I heard something that sounded like an explosion."

"Hold on," Sef interrupted, "what the hell were you doing in the north section? That area's off limit to civilians for now!"

"Mr. Highwind, I'm a wanderer. I drift in and out of places, and I happened to drift into East Island from the north side. "

Sef shook his head. He knew exactly what Shadz meant by drifting for Sef used to drift around the world before he joined up with G.U.N. Sef waved his hand to signal Shadz to continue with his account.

"So I ran over to the area in which I heard the explosion, and I found my self in the Oil Ocean zone. I had heard that the area was a modern marvel, however I found the area in chaos. There were these weird Robot things shooting the area to hell, but the one thing that caught my eye was this large fat man trying to crack a foundation wall."

Sef's ears and tail drooped down slowly. He couldn't believe that Eggman was in fact in the area, but what was worse he was trying to crack the central foundation of the Oil Ocean.

"But if that foundation breaks," Sef began," then that means that the Oil Ocean will seep out and flood East Island with Oil!"

Sef stood up from the table.

"Thanks for the information, Shadz. Here take this and buy yourself a drink."

Sef gave Shadz about fifty rings and left the bar. Once out side, he began to make his way to the outskirts of the Hill Top Zone.
